Finding Peace in the Wild Within

HOME

At Wild Inside Counseling, therapy is an exploration of your inner wilderness.

Imagine preparing for a journey into the wilderness. You wouldn’t step onto unknown terrain without tools for safety, warmth, and protection.

Like a vast, untamed forest, the inner world is layered, complex, and often misunderstood.

Therapy at Wild Inside is about developing internal resources—building emotional safety, self-protection, and resilience from within.

If you’ve found yourself here, parts of your inner landscape may feel dark, lonely, or heavy with shame.

Together, we work to cultivate compassion, curiosity, and tolerance for every part of your inner wilderness—even the places you’ve learned to fear.

Mountain Forest Sunset

Rachel M. Jones, LPC-MHSP

For over eight years, I have provided client-centered individual and group therapy addressing problematic sexual behaviors, intimacy concerns, and a broad range of mental health challenges. As a Licensed Professional Counselor–Mental Health Service Provider, I specialize primarily in neurodivergence and Complex PTSD (CPTSD). My background was spent addressing sexual dysfunction and antisocial behavior patterns. I currently offer trauma-informed, neuroaffirming care for individuals as well as support for couples and family members. Despite no longer holding a board certification to work with individuals mandated to treatment for sexual offenses, I continue to work with individuals who struggle with sexual dysfunction, problematic and compulsive sexual behaviors, as well as any other problematic behavior patterns, including personality disorders.

My therapeutic style centers on helping people understand how their patterns formed—how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors develop over time and why those patterns continue even when they are no longer helpful.

I view insight as a learnable skill, not just awareness, and much of my work emphasizes psychoeducation so clients can understand "the why" behind their reactions and gain more choice in how they respond.

I have long been drawn to understanding harmful interpersonal behavior patterns, which led to nearly a decade of work as a board-certified sex offense therapist for men with histories of sexual offenses, domestic violence, antisocial behaviors, addiction, trauma, and severe mental illness.

Through this work, I also recognized how frequently complex trauma and neurodivergence were present, leading me to pursue specialized training that now shapes my two primary areas of focus: neurodivergence/complex PTSD and harmful / problematic behavior patterns.

I place strong emphasis on acceptance, pattern recognition, nervous system regulation, and sustainable behavior change.

At Wild Inside Counseling, I work collaboratively and with respect for each person’s internal landscape, viewing therapy not as fixing what is broken, but as understanding what was shaped—and learning how to grow differently.
